Police Volleyball Club (Police VC) in the men\u2019s category and Police Women Volleyball Club (Police WVC) emerged as champions of the \u201cMedwell Pre-Season Volleyball Tournament 2025\u201d, held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Petit Stade in Remera. The tournament aimed to help teams prepare for the 2025\/2026 volleyball season and featured participation from both current top-tier teams and former national volleyball stars.

In the men\u2019s category, seven top-tier teams competed APR VC, Police VC, REG VC, Kepler VC, Gisagara VC, EAUR VC, and KVC while in the women\u2019s division, the competition included Police WVC, APR WVC, RRA VC, Kepler WVC, and EAUR WVC.
In the women\u2019s final, Police WVC defeated APR WVC in straight sets (25-20, 25-21, 25-16) to claim the championship. Police\u2019s standout player, Ndagijimana Iris, delivered an outstanding performance throughout the tournament and played a key role in leading her team to victory.
In the men\u2019s final, Police VC also secured the title by beating Kepler VC 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-21). Police player Angiro Gideon was named the tournament\u2019s Most Valuable Player (MVP), solidifying Police VC\u2019s dominance ahead of the upcoming national league.
Beyond the top-tier teams, the tournament also featured a special \u201cVeterans Category\u201d, bringing together former volleyball legends. Kinyinya VC, composed of notable players such as Ndamukunda Flavien, Dusabimana Vincent \u2018Gasongo\u2019, Kwizera Pierre Marshal, and Gahire Mandela, triumphed over the Rwanda National Team Legends, which included former national stars Yakan Guma Laurence, Nsengiyumva Alphonse, and Nshimiyimana Robert, with a 2-1 victory (19-25, 25-21, 18-25).
Speaking after the match, veteran player Dusabimana Vincent \u2018Gasongo\u2019 expressed his joy at taking part in the event, saying it gave them an opportunity to interact with the younger generation and inspire them to work hard and love the game of volleyball.
This marked the first edition of the Medwell Pre-Season Tournament, which will now be held annually in partnership with the Rwanda Volleyball Federation (FRVB) to help teams prepare for the upcoming National Volleyball League, scheduled to kick off on October 17, 2025.
