{"id":1405,"date":"2025-10-12T19:31:37","date_gmt":"2025-10-12T19:31:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/africadiplomacy.net\/?p=1405"},"modified":"2025-10-12T19:33:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-12T19:33:08","slug":"rwandans-urged-to-unite-in-promoting-the-well-being-of-the-girl-child","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/africadiplomacy.net\/?p=1405","title":{"rendered":"Rwandans Urged to Unite in Promoting the Well-being of the Girl Child"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Rwandans have been reminded that girls deserve the same care and opportunities as boys, and they were called upon to work together to end all forms of violence, child labor, and discrimination against girls.<br>This message was delivered during the celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child held in Huye <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>District on October 11, 2025.<br>Annonciata Kankesha, the Vice Mayor of Huye District in charge of Social Affairs, emphasized that neglecting a girl during her adolescence can lead her into risky behaviors or street life. \u201cThe first battle we must fight is ensuring every parent sends their child to school. That\u2019s where protection and empowerment begin and it\u2019s a fight every Rwandan must take part in,\u201d she said.<br>Kankesha highlighted that local leaders are committed to breaking old traditions that discriminated against girls, stressing that all children have equal value.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She noted that in some communities, cases of violence against girls still go unreported by parents or neighbors, calling on everyone to take responsibility in fighting such injustices. \u201cWe must work together to build a better life for the girl child without neglecting boys, because both should grow up hand in hand, complementing each other,\u201d she added.<br>Empowering Girls to Believe in Themselves<br>Ineza Annet, a Senior Four student at G.S. Nkubi, encouraged her fellow girls to be confident, reminding them that they are capable and supported by their country. \u201cThe world is moving fast.
