The Embassy of Israel in Rwanda, in partnership with STEMpower Africa, an organization promoting education in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) across Sub-Saharan Africa, has announced a new competition that will bring together students from various universities to showcase their innovative projects. Outstanding participants will receive awards from the Israeli Embassy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competition, set to begin on November 6, 2025, will involve university students pursuing science-related disciplines. Participants will present creative solutions and inventions aimed at addressing challenges in sectors such as education, agriculture, climate change, and finance, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before the contest officially begins, the selected students received hands-on training at IPRC Kigali, where they were guided on how to refine their projects and enhance their technical and presentation skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On October 29, 2025, the Israeli Ambassador to Rwanda, H.E. Einat Weiss, visited the trainees to observe their progress. She expressed her admiration for their creativity and the potential impact of their work. \u201cThe reason we initiated this program is because I strongly believe that Rwanda is home to highly talented young people capable of achieving remarkable things in science and technology. I see it every day across the country,\u201d said Ambassador Weiss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She encouraged the students to remain curious and committed to continuous learning, emphasizing the importance of research and innovation in building sustainable solutions for their communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Espoir Serukiza, the Country Director of STEMpower Rwanda, highlighted that the partnership with the Israeli Embassy aims to empower young innovators by giving them a platform to develop and showcase their projects. \u201cWhen we opened registration, many students applied. We selected 30 of the best projects, and from those, six will receive awards based on innovation, feasibility, and potential community impact,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

STEMpower Rwanda currently operates 10 fully equipped science and technology laboratories across the country. These facilities provide students and youth with access to modern tools and mentorship, helping them turn classroom knowledge into practical innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The upcoming competition reflects the growing collaboration between Rwanda and Israel in advancing STEM education and youth empowerment, nurturing a new generation of problem-solvers ready to shape the continent\u2019s future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
