Ugandan music icon Jose Chameleone is facing a highly contentious divorce case after his estranged wife, Daniella Atim, filed for separation while demanding 60 percent of his property.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The couple, who married on June 7, 2008, is ending their 17-year union amid accusations of domestic violence, neglect, and emotional abuse. In court documents filed in Kampala, Daniella claimed that years of mistreatment pushed her into depression, isolation, and severe mental distress.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside her demand for 60 percent of Chameleone\u2019s wealth, Daniella is also seeking full custody of their five children, financial support, full control of the family residence in Seguku, and coverage of her legal fees. She has further petitioned the court to block the singer from accessing her residence in the United States, where she currently lives with their children.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am focusing on regaining my freedom, restoring my mental health, and building my business here in America,\u201d Daniella said in her filing.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chameleone has strongly denied the allegations, arguing that the family\u2019s troubles began after Daniella relocated to the U.S. in 2018. He insists he has continued to provide for his family, including purchasing the family home, and accuses Daniella of turning some of their children against him while publicizing private matters on social media.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The singer also rejected her financial demands, claiming Daniella is employed and capable of supporting herself. He is asking the court to grant shared custody of the children, stating that he should not be denied access. Regarding the Seguku home, Chameleone proposed that it remain under his ownership but be available for the children whenever they are in Uganda.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The couple shares five children: Abba (19), Alfa (16), Alba (13), Amma (11), and Xara (6).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although both parties have appeared before a mediator, no settlement was reached, leaving the matter to be decided by the court.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
