Rwandan President Paul Kagame has congratulated Arsenal F.C., a partner of the Visit Rwanda campaign, after the club won the 2025/2026 Premier League title.
Arsenal secured the title on 19 May 2026 after AFC Bournemouth drew 1-1 with Manchester City F.C. The draw left Manchester City on 78 points, four behind Arsenal, who finished on 82 points, with both teams still having one league match remaining.
In a message posted on X, President Kagame said: “We congratulate Arsenal F.C., our #VisitRwanda partner, for winning the Premier League title after a strong season.”
Arsenal last won the title in the 2003/2004 season, when they went unbeaten throughout the campaign, earning the nickname “Invincibles”. This is the club’s fourth Premier League title, following victories in 1997/98, 2001/02, and 2003/04. Overall, the English side has now won 14 league titles.
The partnership between Arsenal F.C. and Rwanda through the Visit Rwanda campaign began in 2018. Through this cooperation, the club promotes Rwandan tourism via the “Visit Rwanda” branding on its players’ shirts and at its Emirates Stadium, while its players have visited Rwanda on several occasions.
However, the partnership is scheduled to conclude at the end of the 2025/2026 season. Arsenal will finish their league campaign at home against Crystal Palace F.C. on Sunday at 17:00.
Following their Premier League triumph, Arsenal still have a major objective in Europe, where they are set to face Paris Saint-Germain F.C. in the UEFA Champions League 2026 final on 30 May 2026 at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest. A victory would make them the first English club to win the competition.
