President Paul Kagame on Wednesday evening, September 3, 2025, received Prosper Zo’o Minto’o, the Director General of the Agency for Aerial Navigation Safety in Africa and Madagascar (ASECNA), at Village Urugwiro.
Zo’o Minto’o is in Rwanda to attend the Aviation Africa Summit and Exhibition 2025, scheduled to take place in Kigali on September 4–5.
The summit, hosted by the Government of Rwanda, will bring together key aviation stakeholders, including government officials, leaders of civil aviation authorities, airlines, airport operators, aerospace manufacturers, and suppliers. The discussions will focus on challenges and opportunities within the aviation sector, with the goal of advancing air transport development across Africa.
ASECNA already maintains a cooperative partnership with Rwanda. In 2023, the two parties signed an agreement granting Rwanda access to air navigation services across African airspaces.
The agency comprises member states including Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Chad, Togo, the Comoros Islands, and France.
Rwanda officially became a member of ASECNA on January 1, 2024.
