APR FC head coach Abderrahim Taleb has expressed confidence ahead of their CAF Champions League preliminary round clash against Pyramids FC, scheduled for October 1, 2025.
On Friday afternoon, the Rwandan army side held their first training session at Kigali Pele Stadium, the venue for Wednesday’s crucial encounter, starting at 2:00 p.m.
All players were present in training except Ouatarra Djibril, who has been sidelined with a long-term injury and is confirmed to miss both legs of the tie. However, Taleb confirmed that previously sidelined players such as Ruboneka Bosco and Fitina, who missed the recent match against Gicumbi, are now fully fit.
Speaking about their Egyptian opponents, Taleb said: “It’s a team I know. They have several Moroccan players, some of whom I coached before. We are aware that Pyramids are a strong side, recently competing at the highest levels and winning the FIFA Africa-Asian-Pacific Cup.”
Despite the absence of Djibril, Taleb assured fans that his squad is well-prepared: “Our players are ready for this important game. Even though Ouatarra is not available, others are eager to step up on Wednesday. If we execute our training plan, I believe we can secure victory.”
The match between APR FC and Pyramids FC will take place on Wednesday at Kigali Pele Stadium, officiated by a Mauritanian refereeing team led by Aziz Bouh.
