Rwandan Premier League side Police FC have officially parted ways with attacking midfielder Hakizimana Muhadjiri following a mutual agreement between the player and the club.
Reports indicate that the decision was influenced by the player’s lack of regular playing time since the start of the current season. Sources close to the club suggest that Muhadjiri had grown increasingly frustrated with limited appearances, prompting both parties to agree on an early contract termination.
Muhadjiri, one of Rwanda’s most talented and experienced midfielders, had joined Police FC for the second time in his career in 2023, after a stint with Al-Kholood SC in Saudi Arabia. His first spell at the club had also left a lasting impression, making him a fan favorite known for his creativity, leadership, and long-range strikes.
Over his two stints combined, Muhadjiri spent three seasons at the law-enforcement-backed club, contributing both on and off the pitch. His departure marks the end of an era for Police FC, as he was among the senior figures in the team’s dressing room.
The timing of the move comes shortly after Police FC secured the signing of Manishimwe Djabel, another skillful attacking midfielder who plays in a similar position. The arrival of Djabel likely intensified competition in the midfield, which may have limited Muhadjiri’s playing opportunities.
Despite the departure, Police FC are currently enjoying a strong start to the 2025/2026 Rwanda Premier League season. The team sits top of the table with nine points after three matches. They will host
Amagaju FC this Sunday at the Kigali Pelé Stadium in a highly anticipated Matchday Four encounter.
As for Muhadjiri, it remains to be seen where his next destination will be, but with his experience both locally and abroad, he is expected to attract interest from several clubs in and outside Rwanda.
