African Land Forces Chiefs Expected in Kigali for High-Level Meeting

The Rwanda Defense Force (RDF) has announced that it will host a major conference of African Land Forces Chiefs, bringing together top military leaders from across Africa and other parts of the world.
Scheduled to take place from October 21–22, 2025, this will be the second continental gathering of its kind. The meeting will be held under the theme: “Leveraging Land Forces’ Capabilities to Enhance the Implementation of Peace and Security Strategies.”

According to a statement from Rwanda’s Ministry of Defense, the conference will bring together Chiefs of Land Forces from various African countries as well as international partners. The gathering reflects Rwanda’s continued commitment to strengthening military cooperation, promoting dialogue, maintaining peace and security, and sharing experiences in military leadership across Africa.
The ministry emphasized that the event will serve as “a vital platform for military leaders to exchange ideas, reinforce partnerships, and collectively assess ways to address emerging and ongoing security challenges.”

Beyond highlighting Africa’s shared vision of collaboration centered on the well-being of its people, the conference comes at a time when the world faces complex and evolving security threats. It will therefore provide an opportunity to discuss the future of modern warfare, explore new approaches to peacekeeping, and emphasize the need for stronger collective action to safeguard stability both on the continent and globally.

Participants will include senior military officials, defense experts, and key stakeholders involved in peace and security efforts at regional and international levels.
