Rwandan rapper Jay C has addressed the viral photos circulating on social media that show him alongside fellow artist Bull Dogg and singer Jacky dressed as priests and nuns. He clarified that the images were taken during the video shoot for his upcoming song “Ohhh Dieu.”
In an exclusive interview with Africa Diplomacy , Jay C urged the public not to draw premature conclusions based solely on the photos. Instead, he encouraged audiences to wait for the release of the song, which he said carries a meaningful and powerful message.
“People should not be quick to judge before understanding the message we wanted to convey. Once the song is released, they will see the intention behind it, and I assure you the message is powerful,” Jay C explained.
Responding to concerns that wearing church attire might be perceived as disrespectful, the rapper stressed that there was no intention of undermining religious values. He pointed out that he is a practicing Catholic himself.
“I am a Catholic. I worship in the Catholic Church, and I fully respect the faith. For me, there is absolutely no problem with this. I don’t see how simply wearing clothing similar to what priests or nuns wear could be considered disrespectful,” he said.
Jay C confirmed that the new song, which features Bull Dogg and Jacky, will be released next week.
After years of inactivity in the music industry, Jay C recently made a comeback with his track “Ikaye” featuring Green P. He also revealed that he is currently working on his first studio album, to be released soon, along with a collaborative project with Green P that fans can look forward to.
