Zuba Ray, one of the rising artists signed under KINA Music, has emerged among the top performers in Rwanda’s 2025 national secondary school examinations, scoring an impressive 85.45%.
The young singer, who first made her public debut performing at the “Vibranium” album launch by Nel Ngabo and Platini, recently completed her studies at the Rwanda School of Music. Her talent caught the attention of KINA Music, which offered her a recording deal soon after her graduation.
Despite balancing her academic commitments and preparations for the national exams, Zuba Ray still managed to release songs such as “Igisabo” and “Everyday”, a collaboration with Nel Ngabo.
In September 2024, KINA Music officially announced Zuba Ray as its newest signee, joining the label’s strong lineup of artists, including Butera Knowless, Nel Ngabo, Platini P, and Tom Close.
Speaking at her signing, KINA Music CEO Clement Ishimwe explained why they chose her:
“Normally, we would organize talent competitions to discover new artists. However, this time, due to our existing collaboration with the Rwanda School of Music, we decided to sign one of their students who has demonstrated great musical potential.”
