DJ Spinny to Celebrate 10 Years in the Music Industry
Rwandan-born DJ Kalisa Joseph, better known by his stage name DJ Spinny, is gearing up for a major concert to celebrate 10 years of his career in music.
Now a household name in Uganda’s entertainment scene, DJ Spinny has made his mark as one of the country’s most talented DJs. He also owns ‘Mezo Noir’, a trendy bar located in the heart of Kampala that has quickly become one of the city’s hottest hangout spots.
The celebration concert is scheduled for October 12, 2025, and will take place at the Mestil Hotel gardens in Kampala. DJ Spinny will share the stage with South African artists Jazzworx and Thukuthela, who recently performed in Kigali, as well as GL Ceejay.
The event is expected to draw a large crowd of music lovers from Uganda and beyond. Friends, fans, and fellow artists from Rwanda are also expected to attend including Zuba Mutesi, who will host the night.
This milestone concert comes after DJ Spinny’s recent tour in Europe, where he performed at several high-profile shows, including Afro Nation, one of the biggest music festivals on the continent.
Born in Kigali, Rwanda, DJ Spinny discovered his passion for music mixing back in 2010 while studying at Lycée de Kigali (LDK). Over the years, he has built a strong reputation across East Africa, performing at major events in both Uganda and Rwanda.
He last performed in Kigali during The New Year Groove concert by The Ben, reaffirming his continued connection with his home country.
