Fans who secured tickets for the Music in Space concert set to feature The Ben, Vampino, and several other stars have been reassured that the show still has a chance of happening, even after its abrupt postponement.
The highly anticipated event, originally slated for August 23, 2025, was canceled at the last moment due to the sudden illness of Bjorn Vido, one of the lead organizers. His health condition made it impossible for the team to move forward as initially planned, co-organizer Joshua Umukundwa confirmed.
Following his discharge from the hospital, Vido traveled back to Denmark, expressing optimism that he would recover fully within two weeks, creating the possibility of rescheduling the project.
Umukundwa stressed that fans need not worry, as ticket holders are fully protected. In the event the show cannot be staged, refunds are guaranteed under the terms of their agreement with the ticketing company. “We are waiting for Bjorn Vido to regain his strength so we can proceed,” he said. “But if the concert is eventually canceled, every fan who purchased a ticket will be reimbursed.”
The Music in Space lineup promised an exciting mix of performers, including Rwandan stars The Ben, Bushali, Ariel Wayz, and Kenny Sol, alongside South Africa’s Boohle, Touchline Truth, Bizizi & Kaygee D’A King, and STU. Ugandan artists Vampino and Sir Kisoro were also scheduled to share the stage in Kigali, joined by DJs Phil Peter and Brianne, with MC Lucky as host.
